    Description

    For sale is an antique hand painted woven Victorian era lidded sewing basket. It is painted with flowers and has a blue raised rim. There is a knob that is painted blue to match the rim. The body of the basket has painted flowers to match the top. They are all around the sides connected by a painted stem or vine. The basket sits on a “foot”, painted blue to match the top rim. From the knob to the bottom the basket stands approximately 8” and it is approximately 8 1/2 “ in diameter. For its age, the basket is in wonderful condition. Some of the paint has worn a bit as has the weave in a few places. See photos for more detail.
