Antique Victorian Papier Mache & MOP Sewing Box Hand Painted All Original

Description

Antique papier mache sewing box made in England around 1850. It measures 3 1/2" tall, 8 1/2" long, and 6" wide. There is a key hole, but no key. The top and bottom edges are scalloped. The top is hand painted with flowers, and inlaid with mother of pearl. The inside has the original green and gold paper. The lid has a green silk padding with a mother of pearl knob to pull down for storage. There are two thimble holders, a pin cushion, a lift up padded storage area, a mother of pearl knob lift up storage space, and a silk covered needle holder lined in flannel. The top tray lifts out for storage. The box is all original. There are four chips to the paper mache top edge, and two chipss to the bottom edge of the box. Thanks for viewing.
