Antique Victorian Wicker Sewing Basket Box Purple Silk Germany Hexagonal 10"x5"

Description

This is an antique sewing box stamped Made in Germany on the bottom.
The base is wood and the sides and top are woven wicker.
It is six-sided, hexagonal shape 10" x 9" x 5" tall.
The top is attached with bent tin hinges; a braided string on one side keeps the lid from falling backwards.
Small handle loop on the lid front to open.
The lid and base are lined in a vivid purple silk that has seen better days. Quite tattered as seen in photos.
The silk on the top is tufted with purple silk covered buttons.
The rim of the lid and the base is lined with a darker purple silk rick rack.
Very cool antique piece in fair condition.
