This option utilizes a small surface mount micro switch to for the momentary mute option
as pictured.

to your Escort or Beltronics radar detector.
ThisThis accessory frees up your 12V vehicle outlet and provides a professional looking
installation without the need of dangling cords or bulky control modules.
The Direct-Wired Smart Cord with Mute Button and Selectable (RED or BLUE) Warning Alert LED
uses a single LED with multi colored capability.  The LED illuminates GREEN to show system has power.
The selection switch on the Control Unit allows the driver to choose from a (RED or BLUE) alert flashing
warning. The LED will continue to function even when the radar detector is in “dark mode” for discreet
night driving. The LED will not illuminate when the radar system is turned off.
Mute Switch/Button: (Surface Mount or Round) option differs per model: The Switch/Button can be mounted in a convenient location for the driver.  Allowing the driver to access the switch and provide a momentary mute function. This eliminates the need to stretch and reach the detector's mute button on the windshield. The Direct-Wired Smart Cord offers two types of momentary switches. The (SMT-001) features a surface mount micro switch that can be attached to any surface. The (SMT-002) requires a hole to be drilled into the mounting surface for installation. Both switches perform the same momentary mute feature. This option must be determined at the time of ordering.
This Direct-Wired Smart Cord comes with a Dual-Fuse-Source (DFS) connector to make this installation easy and eliminate the need to tap directly into the vehicles wiring system. Using a Dual-Fuse-Source (DFS) provides the flexibility to remove the Direct-Wired Smart Cord  and move it to another vehicle in the future.
This also safe-guards your car's wiring system and eliminates the chance of voiding a warranty, because the existing circuits are not altered.
