J1772 Active Vehicle Control Board, AVC2

Description

This is small circuit board in a box, AVC2, to monitor and control the pilot signal from a
J1772 Inlet connector
in the car.
It does the control needed to tell the EVSE (charging station) the car is connected and when the connector is fully latched it request electrical power.
It has a circuit to monitor the proximity pin in the J1772 connector that indicates if the connector is latched.
This helps sequence the power so it is always fully off when the connector is mated or disconnected.
Also it provides a relay contact indicating the connector is latched that can be used to inhibit motion while charging or control a led to indicate charging.
The AVC2 is for vehicle inlet connectors that have a resistor from PROXIMITY to GROUND like the ITT units we sell.  If you have our Aluminum Shell Inlet or a Chinese inlet with no resistor you need a AVC2.r.
If you have your inlet connector measure the resistance between pins GND and PROX.  If you measure 2.74K ohms (2740 ohms) You need an AVC2.  If it is OPEN then you need a AVC2.r.
This module in not a EVSE or a charger, it will
NOT
charge your car.
It is a module used in a  car that is being converted to electric operation.
