    Description

RARE TINTYPE OF PROFESSIONAL BASEBALL PLAYERS IN AN EARLY MODEL T ? CONVERTIBLE -
Although this tintype appears to be from the early part of the 20th Century, what makes it extremely rare in my opinion is the fact that the driver and one of the other passengers appear to be professional baseball players who had the funds to afford what appears to be a Model T convertible automobile. The image clearly shows two of the men in their uniforms with their other buddies hitching a ride. Note: If you look closely they mounted what appears to be a Teddy Bear attached to the hood ornament to act as their mascot. Definitely a bunch of characters captured in this rare and unusual tintype. I don't think you will ever find another baseball tintype quite like this one within your lifetime. Good luck to all my clientele landing this super image for your sports related collection.

Please view my detailed photos for the actual condition of this cased image and as part of my description. The sixth plate contains good contrast, tonal range and excellent sharpness. The image has some normal surface wear consistent with age and the tintype process.
Overall, one of the finest and most unusual baseball tintypes I have ever encountered.
