Set Of 4 Antique Nickel Plated Brass Bronze Lion Head & Ring Drawer Pulls

Description

This is a set of two large and two small antique nickel plated brass or bronze lion head drawer pulls or handles. However, they may have even had a different use.
I am uncertain as to exactly how old they are, but they definitely have very good age.
Including the rings, the two large ones measure 4 3/4 inches tall x 3 1/8 inches wide (12 cm x 7.9 cm). The lions themselves measure 3 3/8 inches tall x 3 1/8 inches wide (8.6 cm x 7.9 cm ). They protrude out 1 1/2 inches (3.8 cm).
Including the rings, the two small ones measure 3 1/2 inches tall x 2 3/8 inches wide (8.9 cm x 6 cm). The lions themselves measure 2 1/2 inches tall x 2 3/8 inches wide (6.3 cm x 6 cm ). They protrude out 1 1/4 inches (3.2 cm).
For some reason, the screw holes in the back of these were replaced with a pricket shaped iron piece. This was done many, many years ago. You can see these in the photos of the backs of the pulls. One of these on a large pull has broken off and one of them on a small pull is partially broken off at the tip. I have no idea why these pricket pieces were put there. In fact, for all I know they may be original. Oddly, they are the only iron pieces on these pulls.
Much of the nickel plating has worn off.
The ring on one of the small pulls doesn’t lie completely flat. For some reason it sticks out a little.
There is a sense of quality in these that you don’t feel in most lion head pulls. I wish I knew their history.
The group weighs 2 lbs. 1 1/2 oz. (950 g).
