Description
This is a previously owned item.Quarter Plate Littlefield, Parsons & Co. Daguerreotype Union Case c. 1856-57. Paper on inside is in torn condition (see picture). Floral hanging plant design on both sides, design in good condition. Couple of marks on edges and on one corner. Hinges on back good but slightly loose. Click locking system tight on front. Velvet on inside color & design good condition. Copper surrounds show wear and discoloration on surround and plate. There is a piece of black felt that was taped to back of tintype and oval hole cut out to surround the tintype so it fits inside of the case nicely. (I did not remove the tape). Tintype measures approx. 2" x 3". Tintype of women with rosy cheeks, wearing a black silk dress with added white collar, buttons and high waisted belt. She has on rings on both hands & bracelet. Straight hair with hair net. Approximate outside measurements are 3-3/4" x 4-3/4". Approximate inside measurements are 3-1/4" x 4-1/4".
