vintage concert poster is the
real deal

repro here! This is a thick stock cardboard poster, and measures approximately
21 1/2" x 13 1/2"
(please note that I've added my ebay

handle as a watermark on three of my photos, to protect image reproduction; the watermarks are
not
on the poster itself). The poster is dated Oct. 7, 1967 for an appearance in
Sevier County, Tennessee
at the Sevier County Courthouse for a 2pm show. Local radio station WSEV AM & FM presented this country music show and announced it as
"Dolly Parton Day"
. This outstanding and impressive concert poster features two fine photos: one of the up-and-coming 21-year old Parton (featuring a classic bee-hive hairdo!), along with a photograph featuring Wagoner and his band. The poster also lists Parton and Wagoner's schedule for the day: a morning "welcome" at the courthouse in
Sevierville, Tennessee
; a noon-time stop at
Pigeon Forge
, and finally an appearance in
Gatlinburg, Tennessee
. The concert then took place at the courthouse at 2:00pm.

Dolly Parton
was born in Sevier County, Tennessee in 1946. Her career began in 1964, though Parton cut her first album, "Hello, I'm Dolly", in 1967 - the same year as the offered concert poster! Ms. Parton is not only a singer, but a songwriter, multi-instrumentalist, record producer, actress, author, businesswoman and philanthropist.

Condition:
the poster exhibits the following flaws worth mentioning: a 2" tear along lower/right edge; one large nail hole at top/center (most likely due to originally having been nailed to an outdoor post or fence to promote the show); light creasing in upper/right edge area; light moisture staining along right edge. Otherwise, in very
solid shape
overall showing minor age/handling faults...as you can see, this Dolly Parton concert poster
