Independence Hall is located on Chestnut St , between 5th & 6th Sts , on the north side Independence Square .It was built in 1729-35 by the province of Pennsylvania as the Colonial State House . The East Room was occupied by the Second Continental Congress, where the Declaration Of Independence was signed July 4th 1776 . A facsimile of the document hangs above the speaker's rostum and portraits of signers hang upon the wall. This postcard comes from a smoke free home.
